Gerard D. "Jerry" Byrne, Sr., was a larger-than-life character who was always the life of the party. A boisterous, generous man with a huge heart, nothing was more important to him than his family. He was the founder and owner of Byrne Rentals and Sales. He married his wife, Gloria Rapp, and together they raised her two younger brothers after the untimely death of her parents. Jerry passed away at his Morgan City home on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, after a valiant three year battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his wife of 50 years and their family.
